Composition of the Cell for the A.Y. 2024-25

About NSS:
The National Service Scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, with the mission of encouraging students to contribute to nation-building through service-oriented activities.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Bonam Venkata Chalamayya Institute of Technology and Science established in 2009ā2010, stands as a vibrant platform for youth empowerment and social transformation. Through the Extension Activities Cell, NSS inspires students to become socially responsible, community-driven, and service-oriented leaders.
Each year, 100ā120 dedicated and dynamic volunteers join the unit under the guidance of a committed NSS Programme Officer and committee members, actively participating in initiatives that shape personality, build character, and strengthen social awareness.
This unit regularly follows the instructions and guidelines issued by the Central and State Governments and conduct various community-oriented activities accordingly. It also participates in local government programmes whenever required. The cell prepares an annual activity planner, including important days, and strictly adheres to it while organizing and implementing its programmes. In addition, the unit submits its monthly activity and progress reports to the NSS Coordinator, JNTUK.

Functions of the Cell:
- To create awareness about environmental protection and the conservation of natural resources.
- To organize blood donation camps with the support of willing NSS volunteers and students, both periodically and during emergency situations.
- To promote awareness on health, personal hygiene, and environmental hygiene among students and the community.
- To conduct medical camps in the adopted villages at regular intervals to serve the poor and the needy.
- To sensitize people against social evils such as child marriage and child labour, and to create awareness about the importance of womenās education.
- To adhere to the Union and State Government policies aimed at social development.

Description of the Cell:
The Sports & Games Cell was formed in the beginning of the academic year comprising Teaching Staff, Non-teaching staff members and students.Ā This Cell plays an effective role in shaping the lives of the students.Ā It encouraged the students to have a healthy body and sound mind to face the future challenges.
